year or older rooster without SPURS

Old post, I know. I just rescued two roosters from a neglected flock of about 16 roosters. Neither have any spurs, but spur nubs. I'm expecting they are about 2 years old, fully developed feathering, combs, and wattles. They are a cross of Ayam Cemani and Australorp. Very interesting to me as my old rooster had huge spurs by 1 year old.

I have a rescue with no spur or nubs.. Everyone says it's a rooster. Doesn't make a sound and is very friendly.

So actually, both have begun to grow spurs. I think they had scaley leg mite so bad, that it may have prevented growth. I've treated them for it and they are clean and their legs are starting to heal nicely. Both of them crow and both are wonderful boys.

Yours definitely looks like a roo judging by the tail. When did you rescue him (and thank you!)?

He's been here about a month now. Extremely scared of my other roosters. He was attacked by a dog and moves very slow. I'm attached to him already.
