Yellow and Red Golden Pheasants

I am going to get my little sister some juvenile pheasants as a gift so i am trying to learn a little bit more about them please share your experiences

It is probably best to stay away from Ringnecks for a beginner hobbyist. They are quite a bit wilder than most of the ornamental varieties. The Silver Pheasants are a good starter. They are calm, larger, and easier to raise than some of the others. All pheasants are basically wild birds and most be kept in a completely enclosed pen to keep them from flying off and to keep them safe from predators. Red Goldens and Lady Amherst are also a good choice for someone inexperienced with pheasants, but I would recommend starting off with Silvers. They are all beautiful birds and I know your sister will love them. Good Luck.
