Hello Everyone!
I’ve got a hen that’s not acting like herself the last few days and today there’s been a new development. I’m wondering if anyone has any idea what could be going on with her and what I can do to help her.
To start, I noticed on Saturday that she spent majority of her day in the nesting box. She’s a 1year old black star, so I thought maybe she was going a bit broody. It continued through yesterday, which was when her last egg was. Now this afternoon she’s lethargic, her crop is empty, and she has this runny yellow/white poop. It’s coated down her feathers above her vent. Additionally, she seems to leaning on things for support, but her tail feathers are up. All my chickens get a layers feed with additional supplemental calcium and grit. Nobody else in the flock is having issues, just her. Nobody new has been introduced to the flock, however they are free range. Her comb is normal in color, but is flopped to the side which is a bit unusual. If anybody has any ideas as to what this could be and how I can help that would be greatly appreciated!
