Has anyone ever had success with giving chicks to a broody after the 21 days without the broody having hatched any of her own? I have yet another broody on my hands and I'd rather give her sexed pullets than have her hatch out potential roosters.

If you let her sit on fake eggs, then give her the chicks, she may take them. BUT you’d have to watch the mama very carefully for an hour or so to make sure she isn’t rejecting the chicks. If she does, you may have to raise them yourself. There is a possibility that she might leave early too, so you might wait 16 or 18 days instead of 21.
