In the Brooder
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to having my very own chickens. I grew up having them, one of my favorite pets was my rooster Piero. This is my first time with them as an adult, but I don't imagine much has changed.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 6: Orange, Kung Pao, Nugget, Dinner, Kentucky, and Kitty
(3) What breeds do you have?
two Golden Comets, one Isla Brown, two Rhode Island Red, and a Leghorn
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Company in the garden, their noises, and their absurd expressions
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Photography, film specifically, I develop it myself in my kitchen. I also garden, avidly. Half of my yard is devoted to the garden, which is where the chickens also live.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I teach middle school math (8th grade specifically), I also have four cats, two dogs, and two kids.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Every time I looked for information or had a question I got routed to here, I figured I might as well join.
