So I am dealing with fowl pox. My poor rooster has had it for a month now. I already lost one hen. Unbeknownst at the time it had become wet pox. My roo should have been better by now and he was noticably loosing weight. So I checked his throat and sure enough lesions. One was a bump so big it was threatening his breathing. I have a concoction I make for sore throats. I have even cured strep throat with one extra ingredient. It dawned on me, why not try it for my birds. Another hen also had wet pox but the lesions weren't as bad. Well I used it. I gave them some in the morning and another dose after they cooped up to give it time to soak into the tissues. In 2 days I checked his throat the lesions were gone. The lesions are also gone on my hen. This was the day before yesterday. Today my rooster is noticably gaining weight back. No lesions have returned. Tomorrow I am going to dose my whole flock just to be safe. I'm thinking maybe pull their food and water and give them this concoction shortly before they coop up. I can always put food and water back once they are in the coop. I thought I should share this in case anyone else can use it.
Sorry, recipe removed for patent reasons. If you have desperate need pm me.
Chickens gobble this up.
The only thing is that really sick birds will take one bite and then they are done. The active ingredient has a burning sensation as it kills bacteria. My sick birds stopped eating it willingly. I put a gob of it on the side of their beak and they eat it.
I hope this can help someone else like it helped me..

There is no cure for fowl pox virus, and it clears up in about 3 weeks. Wet pox is more serious, and also no cure. Canker can look very much like wet fowl pox, and it smells rotten. Other respiratory diseases can cause yellow lesions inside the throat as well. Do you have any pictures of the lesions inside the beak of your rooster? The pictures in your other thread do not look like pox to me, but some tiny fly bites or peck wounds on the comb, and a swollen sunken eye that can be seen with MG or an eye injury.

The lesions are gone.. There are no lesions to show pictures and yes people have patented less.. By the way thank you for trying to screw me. You've got the wrong ingredients though. Yes it IS pox it has spread and looks different on other hens. No, I do not have pictures. Why?? Because I cured it in 2 days after 4 weeks of my rooster being sick. I was verified by a veterinarian.. BTW wrong ingredients.

How come you do this literally everytime I suggest something not standard? Get out of your box! Absolutely nothing in science or medicine is infallible..

Some people have to find a way to be ok. It's NOT OK to try and take that from ANYONE!! I am the one who figured this out and it is a easily patented formula. I've already been checking..

I must have missed something...??? I don't see any screwing going on here...

That would be great if your concoction works. I'd be interested in hearing what ingredients can kill viruses that don't involve a vet - LOL! I have read about everything from iodine to toothpaste, and I've found that the iodine helps with the external lesions, but I've not had anything work on cankers.

I apologise. Perhaps I did go a bit overboard. I need to find a way to make my own money to help support my family. I have CPTSD so maintaining a 9-5 is almost impossible hard. I learned that of it has been released publicly or if it has been in use for over a year than the patent application will probably be denied. I seem to be really good with natural treatments and remedies. Maybe this is what I can get us to float with. I apologise again.. One like myself finds themselves apologising a lot. Meh such is life.
