Gave my 2 week old chicks a bowl of plain yogurt for the first time today. They were terrified of it for a minute, then they took to it quite nicely. It is flung everywhere and the chicks seem to believe it is some sort of feather conditioner because they have it all over themselves! Funny little things....

What cute little babies! What breeds are there? I need to go out and give my babies some yogurt today.....

Ewww that is messy and also hilariously cute!

I gotta try that sometime. . . I have yet to give my chicks yogurt. I believe I see a couple Easter Eggers in there.

My adults like it too but mixed up with the fallen seed from the hay bales. They fling it around because they want it but they don't like it on the 'lips' of their beaks. At least that's what they told me, but some times my girls like to yank my chain.

Silly!!!

First time chick owner has to ask.......how do you clean them or do they do it themselves??

I don't know quite yet how to clean them!

They are my first chicks too! They look much better now a few hours later. I imagine I could wipe them up with a baby wipe? I did wipe down the sides of their Rubbermaid and their roost with a wet washcloth. That seemed to take care of the majority of the mess.

There are 5 EE, 3 black australorps, and 3 light brahmas. The one taking a yogurt bath in a BA. I think it is Betsy. Maybe Charlotte--they all look kind of alike.
