Anyone ever see a yolk sack on a 6 week old?

I had two marans (down to one). They are half the size of other chicks of the same age and only have feather out about half way. Still fuzzy on the chest belly and neck. The other chicks are feather out nearly completely. Anyway, one of the marans died this morning and I decided to see exactly what the big round growth was near its butt. It was round, a bit smaller than an egg and resembled a growth. I cut into it and it was like a fatty growth inside as well. Anyway? One is still alive but on deaths doorstep. I am giving it a fighting chance but wonder what happened to these chicks that made them this way. They are the only two that survived the first 48 hours our of 4 chicks that hatched out of 22. The other two...one was severely deformed and the other ripped it's yolk sac when it hatched and died quickly.

Any ideas or thoughts would be helpful to keep this from happening next year.

Oh and I will be getting hatching eggs from someone else too. ;)

I can't imagine a chick still having a yolk sac at 6 weeks. Don't know what it is but maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
