Yolkless eggs

I’m not sure who it is(I have 17 hens), but one of my girls has been laying tiny yolkless fairy eggs for about two weeks now. I’ve never had this happen before now, but we’re getting about 3-4 of these tiny brown eggs each week.

Is there a condition that might cause this? One or two times seems like a fluke, but I’m a little concerned that it seems to be just this hens new state and that there might be something wrong.

attached two photos. One of the yolkless white in a bowl, another of the shell. As you can see, it’s pretty much quail egg sized. We have received 7-8 more since this one(this photo from just over two weeks ago)

Have you performed a good physical exam? Check her head to toe, feel gently around the abdomen for swelling or hard spots. That sounds like a reproductive system issue if it's happening that frequently, how old is she?

I stated that I don’t know which of my 17 hens it is.

I have 3 that are a year and a half old, and I know it’s not any of them. Two of those girls lay green eggs, and the other is lays light tan. These tiny eggs are darker.

The other 14 are about 8 months old. Whoever is laying these was laying normally and then suddenly this shift happened. All my birds seem happy and quite healthy, except for one that JUST developed impacted or sour crop. But that only started in the last two days so that wouldn’t be the culprit.

Is there anything other than the white in there, like a tiny piece of tissue?
That is what usually triggers the system to form an egg.

Fairy, fart, wind, rooster eggs are usually from a tiny piece of tissue breaking loose from the reproductive tract, or an immature ova(yolk) and the body forms an egg around it. Color can be darker than 'normal' as the pigment coating released has to cover a much smaller area so is thicker. Can happen with any age layer, but more common with older layers.

As long as they are all acting fine, not much you can do to solve this mystery.

Ill open and inspect a few, and upload photos. I haven’t seen anything except clear clean whites.

If there’s no really health risk then it’s not a huge problem, but as I keep chickens for the purpose of eggs and meat, I need them to be able to reproduce new chicks. Hopefully I can figure out who it is and ensure they make the butcher list

Okay, here’s some pictures. There does seem to be a little tiny bit of tissue in the eggs, so that explains that.

BUT, I did see something new and worrying. I’ll post the pictures below because I said I would, but I’m going to be starting a new thread. Unless I’m mistaken(which is possible because my worm ID knowledge is only as extensive as my most recent google search), one of these tiny yolk-free eggs contains a worm 😬
