i went out to check on the birds and add food to the feeder this am. i have three four month old birds in with a turken, standard cochin and two bantam silkies. the turken has been playing the dominate hen role and has been chasing everyone from the feeder but the cochin( she is huge)
well today after the turken chased the youngsters away, the cochin would get a mouthful of food, drop it and cluck for the chicks to come get it. i guess that's why i love cochins and silkies so much, they are just the sweetest birds with the best mothering instinct. btw this cochin i got last year and she was nothing but feathers and bones, we wormed her and fed her and now she is very healthy.
