I am fairly new to chicken raising and had my first sickness this weekend. A 9 week old Maran chick that was listless, losing weight and bloody diarrhea. After searching on Backyard Chicken, I thought she probably had cocci. Just went to Farm Supply and gave her her first feeding Corid. Will let you all know how she does. But just want to thank you all for being such wonderful resources for the novice chicken farmer!!!

Cocci is a very common issue with chicks. Even those feed medicated feed can get it. I'm sure they will pull through just fine.

Thank you Greenfamilyfarms- should I put it in the water of the other chicks just to be sure???
