I go hiking often into the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, situated a couple of miles north of my home.

Someone that has a lot of time and a great camera has captured many of the critters that spend time there.

Mostly I see snakes and wild quail there... but I see coyotes frequently as well as ring-tailed foxes... Guess I'll have to start taking my camera with me in the evenings when I go hiking.

Here is his website... Enjoy the eye candy from the park surrounded by city.

ETA: When I hike, I usually do the 8A-8B-200A trail loop. Best of the Park/Trail Map

Nice photos.

The desert has a beauty of its own that isn't always seen.

BTW, I'll be in Tempe the first week of December for a meeting.

I'll tell ya as one who lives in the desert. It is absolutely gorgeous, all seasons, it has it's own beauty. Spring brings so many colors most people don't about, summer brings those wonderful Yucca flowers, winter brings snow and the wildlife, fall has many many colors. Most people don't realize the beauty of the desert.

My Dad loved the desert. He lived in El Centro some as a kid. I don't know how many stories he told me about those times. He always told them like he was going back to the happiest times of his life.

thank you for the link.
I love seeing wildlife and different scenic country.
