Good Morning!

Well, our family took the leap and got our first chicks ever yesterday! Our neighbor has them and we have always gone and visited and gotten fresh eggs with our boys. We have been talking about getting our own for a couple of years and I always resisted.. Until my hubby took me to the Tractor Supply.. Let's just say I fell in love and caught the bug. Turns out hubby had done his research and answered my main questions, even has a coop all planned out. So thats what he has been doing in his spare time! Our boys are super excited and I am now 'the best mom ever'...

I have to admit.. I didn't sleep at all last night. I kept checking on our new 'babies'.. are they breathing? are they hot? are they cold? I even cleaned dried poop off one of them... yup, i must be crazy :)

Anyway, thanks for reading!

Welcome to BYC from California wine country in the Western Sierra Foothills.

I truly believe it is a hard-hearted soul who can not fall in love with baby chicks. :D

Thank you all! They are doing great and providing much entertainment.. Our boys didn't even want to go out to eat because they wanted to watch the chicks! One has been named Coffee... seeing as she took a leap off my knee and into my cup (i was sitting on the floor, no worries). Lets just say she was NOT happy, especially when I gave her a quick warm wipe down!
