Young Birds stink

This is just my opinion and everyone chooses to raise birds differently, but I feel if they stink that bad their litter management could be better. They WILL lay and step in their own poop to some not matter what, but with effective litter management (removing wet and obviously soiled litter and scattering fresh on top as needed), they shouldn't stink that bad.

As others have said, a bath is fine just make sure they are totally dry before heading out into the cold! Good luck!

I know but they were in a cat carrier over night. And they have awefull orange poop that stinks worse than normal poop. And they have to be quarantined from my main flock so they can’t go in there. I will never buy chicks early again!

If you got them as tiny chicks they likely haven't been exposed to much if anything.....unless you got them from a local breeder. Hatchery chicks literally go from shell to sorting to mail. They never touch the ground until you get them.
What I am saying is if they came from a hatchery to a store near you then to your set up no quarantine is really needed.

What feed are you using?

i am using medicated chick starter. And they did come from a local breeder. It’s this crazy weather! I haul them in the house three nights out of seven. And I have taken tarps down on the coop and put them back up several times. I tried washing their stinky little feet and it did not seem to help.

I have two month old birds that have been kenneled through the cold. They layed in poop. Now they stink like crazy. Is it ok to bathe them? I am sure it will be an experience.

Are you saying you have two birds, and they are one month old?
Or are the birds two months old but you didn't say how many?

If you could let the birds have access to a nice dust bath, they might clean themselves up and save you the bother. (I don't know what options you have right now, so it may not actually be possible.)
