So sorry two two month old birds. Yes I can try the dust bath method first. Great idea!

So kennel with potty paper and two by four fir sleeping. No other bedding. What bedding are you using?
How deep is it?
My first instinct with chicken odor is:
A. Is it DRY?
B. Is the bedding deep enough?

We have been dipping into the upper 30’s here. 40 is standard for the coming week. They are feathered out. But it is only two birds so they can’t keep each other warm. I will try to move them to the coop with the brooder heater. That's your problem. You need bedding to absorb and neutralize the poop.
With 4 inches of pine shavings under them it wouldn't matter if they slept on their roost (they're young for that), or on the ground because the poop would be dried out quickly and mixed into the bedding instead of sitting there on top with them.
Where are you located and what are the temperatures? By 8 weeks they ought to be feathered out, off supplemental heat, and able to spend the night in the coop.![]()
