Im quite confused, I hatched some brahmas back in May which makes them 7 months ish old.
One of the hens has gone broody, the thing is that she is still young and to the best of my knowledge hasnt even laid an egg yet, i may be wrong on this but i know my hens and i know which eggs come from which hens.
Its between 0 and 8c here and extremely wet, like rain nearly every day, she seems top be quite dedicated and going about it in the correct fashion, im just baffled, has anyone ever had this before?
I read that brahmas mature slowly which makes it even more confusing.......

Hens only go broody after laying eggs. There's no set number of eggs. I've had old hens go broody after laying one or two eggs. Age doesn't matter; a young hen is as likely to go broody as an older one. How long has the hen been brooding? If it has been just a day or so she might stop brooding and go back to here previous behavior.

Unless she is sitting on the first couple of her own (literally in the last week) then i cant see how she has started laying and i havent noticed.
Shes still going strong (day 5).
