I have 18 Easter Eggers and they are 2 months and a two weeks old. They are in an enclosed Coop, due to the wildlife visitors we have. The outside pen is being built, but not ready for them yet. They are loosing feathers daily. They are eating and drinking fine and the pecking order in well in process. I sit and watch them and they seem to be cleaning themselves a lot. What could be going on with the hens? We did discover a Rooster (Henry) and he has been separated from the girls. We thought that was the reason for all the feathers. Especially piles in the corners of the coop.

I did treat for possibility of mites, by thoroughly cleaning the coop, by vacuuming after removing the shavings, spraying floors and walls with mild soap water, then powder the place with Garden and Poultry Dust. I tried to treating the hens, but was somewhat successful.

I want to make sure hens are ok.

Welcome to BYC!

They're fine, just going thru a juvenile molt, growing in their big girl feathers!
As the new feathers grow in they will preen often to remove the sheathing that is on the new feathers(shown in pic below).

Best not to treat for bugs unless you are sure you have them.

FYI.....semantics, maybe, but can be important communication terms when discussing chicken behavior.
Female chickens are called pullets until one year of age, then they are called hens.
Male chickens are called cockerels until one year of age, then they are called cocks(or cockbirds or roosters).
Age in weeks or months is always a good thing to note.
