My boy ZZ is 14 wks old. He was bought at the feed store as a pullet of course. My flock has 5 mature ladies ages 5-2 and 6 ,14 wk old young ladies that were raised with him.
My question is this. How will he learn to be a good rooster with no role models to show him? He was being mean to the little girls chasing and pulling their hair. He also thinks any time a mature lady bends over it's an invitation. He runs up and jumps on them. Sometimes they are OK with it sometimes they are not. Is he not supposed to woo the ladies rather than running and jumping from behind? He has attempted to dance a couple of times but the little girls run for fear of getting their hair pulled again.
Also, my 5yr old lady is not the fastest and more of a full figured gal. She can't out run him but that should not give him the right to jump on her any time he wants.
Will he learn to love and care for his ladies? I know he is an awkward , hormone fueled teenager and we have a ways to go.
