Okay I need some advice,
We have had chickens for over a year now, we’ve learned ALOT in a short period of time, including playing vet since we’re 400km away from one.
We incubated eggs and ended up with 2 hens and a “special” rooster (the special rooster is living in the house with us) They are now 15 and a half weeks, they have some comb and waddle development and are turning red. The hens have been in the coop with the older chickens for almost a week now but they’re continually being bullied and pecked on! I figured after a couple days this would settle and they would be accepted, they spend most of their day huddle in the corner of the coop because the rooster won’t let them outside, as soon as they go outside the rooster pecks them and drives them back into the coop. I’m at my wits end and feel horrible for the younger hens. We removed one chicken who was doing ALOT of the bullying and kept in inside with us, she hasn’t laid a egg since Saturday. How long do it take for the older chickens to accept the young ones and is my older hen egg bound or just decided to stop laying for a while? Did we put them out too early? BUT they were placed in a cage along side the one for 2 weeks before they were placed inside the coop. Any advice would help!
