I should have known better. My heavy girls did it to my polish, now they're doing it to my Houdan boy. They are pecking his head bald and bloody. My poor sweety. I'd kept him separate for a while until most of his crest was in, then he did fine the first 2 days, then today the poor boy has half a bald head.
He's such a sweetie, he's like my little puppy that followed me around, pecking my shoes when he wanted to be picked up, and then happy and calm as a clam while you carry and pet him. I want him to find a home with some other crested chickens who won't peck him bald, because he's so beautiful with his crest.
Here's a pic of what he looked like just a few days ago.....
Does anyone have some lonely crested hens for him to make friends with?
Will deliver up to an hour from Jefferson City MO because he's my baby. I can't ship him.
Post or PM me.
Thanks.
