My 17 wk old easter egger (out of all my new birds she is my favourite !!!) was injured last week by a goat. I saw her in the hay feeder (I was about to put new 5x5 bale in there) and then a few hours later she was limping- so I am pretty sure she got stepped on in some fashion.
It is one leg only, but a very pronounce limp. She does put some weight on her hurt leg, but only using her front toes. I separated her into a cat carrier and it has been 5 days, but the limp has not gone away or even decreased. She is eating, pooping, clucking well. She even has company because I have a new rooster who is in isolation in the same room as her. She seems happy enough.
How long can a hurt leg take to heal? Is there something else I can do for her?
Thanks
