I have had two eggs to be found in the morning under the roosting bars two mornings in the row and I'm a little dumbfounded. I have four hens that are two years old who have never "missed the nesting boxes" along with chicks of different ages. The oldest chicks are thirteen weeks old and I'm pretty sure that they are too young to be the culprits of the smashed, shell-less eggs this week but at the same time, it is odd to find the eggs, especially since I'm getting eggs from my hens. Tonight after I get off at midnight, I'm going to go to the coop and see where each are sleeping just incase I see another in the morning to see who might be laying in that spot.
Just out of curiosity, what are the ages of the youngest hens to lay have you had.
