This is Clarisse. She is from old feral chicken stock from around Mission San Juan Bautista in California. She's about 18 weeks old, and a strong jumper and strong flier. (Good thing she's in an enclosed run, or she'd be feral stock in San Jose!)

The light marks are purely dappled sunlight. She's a deep glossy black with green irridescense, except for her head and neck, which have brown feathering. Dark face, dark legs, looks like a pea comb coming in. Very slender build. She's a very handsome little hen!
My theory is that she's Sumatra with a touch of maybe Game Fowl? She's sure got a lot of Sumatra characteristics, and she's a great flier, which I gather they are known for, and helps with those who have been in feral colonies for a long time.
