your newbie q of the week...Roosts???

What should a roost look like. I just figured out that the roost and nest box are not one in the same.

Does a roost need to be big enough that they won't fall? We have panaramic windows at about 9 feet up, should we put the roost there or lower. I am amazed at what I have learned about chickens and ducks in the last month. Who ever said you stopped learning when you graduated never experienced children or pets.

I whould put the roost about 3 to 4 feet up. If they are atthe very top you will need roost closer to the ground so they can get up that high. Here is the roost in our coop -

Is the ramp by the window a roost???

The beam is it a 4 X 4???
