My Marans hen went broody!!! I am so excited! The aggs are total mutts but owell, I just want more chicks running around LOL. So I put up 2 new nests so the other hens won't want to lay in there so much and they are using them... the first day she went broody I didn't know she was broody at first and took 4 eggs out from under her and then 3 days later I realized she was so I cracked them open and they were all fertile but the bullseye was really big and 'spreading' it seemed, so maybe she is doing a good job? She got off the nest that first day, to eat, and the eggs were cold only a few minutes after, so she must have just startred sitting on them. It's been 4 days now.
do I mark the eggs in some fashion, do I move her out of the coop?
She's breaking eggs, is it to late to give her some more?
how many eggs can she have? (she's a normal size marans hen)
