    First time incubating!!!!

I run my humidity at 50% and usually run a 98% hatch rate but you will get different opinions from everyone on what the correct humidity is. The last egg will be ok for lock down but it might hatch later than the rest. Just keep an eye on the air cells.

two chicks so far and questions

Have you candled? Listened? and float tested your other eggs? Some of mine did not hatch until day 24 last hatch. I float tested them on day 23 and had several of them move around!!

What is the ideal humidity for hatching in an incubator?

I would let it drop, balance itself out. My last hatch I did at my work and my staff had let it get up to 65% on my day off not knowing, the next day I let it drop down to around 40% for the day and then brought it back up to 50% when I left. Had a 98% hatch

Need SERIOUSE lock down help please

I will give it a try. I have never had this issue and have hatched so many times. I have been frequently adding warder via medicine syringe through one of the air holes and so far that has been working. Tomorrow is supposed to be hatch day so I will just have to keep a close on eye on things...

Yes i do. And up until lockdown it stayed at a level 55%. The only way to fill the wells would be to open the lid *sigh*

Need SERIOUSE lock down help please

Using a still air styrofoam bator. Last hatch went perfect. 12 of 14 hatched. 12 in now and all candled right on target so we locked down on Saturday. Took the eggs out of the turner. Put a paper towel down. Humidity is going hay wire. Will drop to 40 and then go back up to 90 when i add water...

    incubating question

I agree I would take them out on Friday and raise the humidity Monday just in case you have some chickens who try to jump the gun.
