I would go right to Moore's Feed Store. 3721 S Flores St. They get in weekly shipments of at least one standard breed - usually ameraucana (easter egger), RIR, or barred rock -- and one fancy breed, usually polish or silkies. They also usually have some ducks and maybe a goose or two on hand.
Then there's a good chance you have a pullet. The "hairstyle" is not as good an indicator of gender as the wattles. By eight weeks, a cockerel usually will have noticeably red wattles.
That is excellent. My flock is small because we live in the city, but my wife and I hope to move out to the country in a few years. She grew up on a small farm and misses it a lot.
She's a pullet, and probably a white crested blue polish. There are white crest feathers, but they are overpowered by the darker feathering that extends from the neck upward. My blue polishes all had this darker coloration on the neck, but it wasn't as pronounced as your hen's.
