Ive got a broody hen with like 14 eggs and whenever shes up off the nest theres another hen on them so is that like planned or does that hen kick out my broody hen to lay more eggs in the nest?
And also i wouldnt know how to feed a baby duck if its not inside cause ive got other birds besides the ducks and this is the first time ive had a mom hatch
Im holding the little baby inside but i feel bad cause hes all by himself. Will he be alright till the others hatch? He cries a lot when left alone so ive been holding him .
I woke up and found this this morning! Is that what a hatching egg is suppose to look like? And if this little guy hatches how long do the others have to hatch befo re momma duck abandons the nest? Will taking the babe away after it hatches keep her nesting?
I have two ducks: a muscovy female and pekin male. I know that they mate because it pretty much happens each time they jump in their pool so i was just wondering if it was possible for my female to hatch eggs. She's been dedicated to her nest these past few days barely leaving it .
I can't wait till my male starts to gobble. My neighbor has some and I find it cute. I realize that they can be really protective too bc the other day a vulture landed by the flock and one of the turkeys chased it away. It was rlly amazing, especially considering the difference in sizes. My guys...
