Yeah, I was worried because it looked worse than some of the pictures I saw online, but it was fixed somewhat easily. I forgot to take any pictures of her, but it was a ball with a three inch diameter of, well, intestine I guess. My mom came and pulled me out of school because she didn't know...
One of my runner ducks had a prolapsed rectum today :/ that wasn't something I ever thought I would have to fix, she seems to be okay now, but I'll be keeping a close eye on her
I've never used corn but what I've always done is freeze the fruit that's going bad and give that to them, be warned if you use watermelon, your white chickens will look like they just came out of a bloody battle lol
We went to the TPPFF show today at AZ feeds, had a great time seeing everyone's birds again! Neither of my pigeons won anything and Jeffy was disqualified for his comb, but I got 4th in showmanship! I also ended up taking home five Starling ( I think that's what Patrick called them) home with...
Ducky is naturally polled and so far I haven't felt anything on Duncan's head (my friend said it starts to feel like/look like a hard pimple) so I hope he's naturally polled too. If not my friend has the equipment to do it.
Congrats on the new goats! I'm not sure aboutputting all the goats together, I'm pretty new to this, but as for the goats kidding without help, Ducky had Duncan without me, I came back from work and ta da! There he was all cleaned up and trying to walk, so they can have them without help, but...
My phone won't upload any pictures right now but we have an adorable tri color gray eyed buckling! We've named him Duncan. He was having trouble nursing but after a good half an hour of showing him where to nurse and putting milk on my finger and letting him suck on it, he finally got the hang...
So I went into to town to go to the doctor, I wasn't gone more than an hour and my mom called me saying that Ducky had the baby! I'm not sure if she's had two but the first one has a black head and a white and brown body! Pictures to come!
I never really could feel her ligaments before this past couple days because she's always been skittish, so i dont know what they feel like normally, but when I feel them now they aren't at all tight, but I can feel them there
Still no babies, but they sure are moving around in there, I felt Duckys belly and they were kicking and moving. I looked at her udders, they're leaking a little bit, but it doesn'tlook like milk? Its real thick and a bit ssticky, is that what is meant to look like at first?
