It doesn't work, you're just feeding them. I have a rat problem myself and I have tried EVERYTHING you can think of that wouldn't be straight up poison. I did live traps and caught some and then they quit getting in the traps. I did the plaster of paris and killed one rat. I did the Vit D...
I bought a bunch of chicks that I know what I got but this one came from a bin at the feed store under "assorted rare chicks". Of course the guy at the feed store had no clue. What do you guys think? I will say when standing up she is more upright than my other chicks, seems to have a longer...
She's a verified Magpie. I bought her from a breeder. I was showing to the original poster that hers could be a mix or a Magpie, doesn't look pure Ancona to me.
I was going to say Magpie, she looks exactly like my magpie, plus she has a black bill. Anconas shouldn't have a pure black bill. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. :) Or she could be a mix. Magpie in the front, Ancona in the back with two Rouens.
Live traps are definitely more time consuming but they do work. I won't do poison because it's not just the rats you kill. If you kill the rat and then a owl eats the rat or the cat eats the rat etc etc then you poison that animal. I've done live traps in the past and caught over 30 rats...
I'm dealing with this right now, unfortunately my barn cat isn't doing his job! I bought a live trap and I've caught 3 rats so far. Baited it with some meat and pelleted feed.
There is! If you look at the top there is a navigation bar where you can go here in the duck section or other sections. There is a for sale/trade, free rehoming, and many more things!
I can't post in the For sale section because I don't have 20 posts yet :) Just wanted to put it out there that I have 5 drakes (Anconas) that need homes. 2 months old. I have 2 black, 2 blues and a tri color. I'm Washington state if anyone is interested :) I can take pics too if anyone wants...
I have Anconas which are a dual purpose duck, great egg layers and also used for meat. Personally I love their personalities and their looks more than my Rouens. Not that it matters to a lot of farm people but my Rouens are WAY louder than my Anconas, holy cow do they quack. A lot!

I used to post on a horse forum and a bunch of us really became good friends. I met some in person, others I'm Facebook friends with. You really can build a great friendship by helping each other and talking to one another online.
Thank you everyone for the welcome! The babies I bought are Ancona ducks. I also have a couple Rouens and one Magpie. They are looking so so much better today after being in a box for 5 days so I'm feeling pretty comfortable we are out of the woods. I'm going to try to post a pic, hopefully I...
