I don't let my chicks with the others because of the rooster. He will stay inside until he can go outside in a "mini-coop" and then merge with the rest of the uncooped chickens. I don't think it was one of the chickens though because there was no egg shell pieces anywhere or chicks "parts."

I'm all about cutting down on CO2 emissions so this idea is brilliant! I hope it works out.

I haven't raised any chicks in a glass aquarium but I would consider it this coming year if it is safe. I am just concerned with with the lack of air flow. What do you keeps your chicks in? Thanks

We only let the hens hatch out eggs in the spring, if that counts as breeding. We will definitely do something about keeping her away from him for awhile! Thanks

Do you have a local vet? If she continues in that manner I would take her to the vet. I'm sure others with more experience will help you but good luck!
