Well he turned out to be a roo so far that's four roos out of 8 chicks...will be posting picks soon of the 4 remaining 2 are splash and I am having a real hard time figuring them out.
Hen or Rooster?
Not sure if I am postin gin the right place but I have a 8 silkie chicks about 4 months and am trying to start weeding out the roos, this is one of 2 paints that I received (they were all a gift from my family for Christmas so I was not there to pick them out...
Here we go again, had 4 chicks last year 3 were roos and couldn't bring myself to separate the last pair (hen and roo) so rehomed them together.....for Christmas I was given 8 more silkie chicks they are now about 3-4 months old.. so I am starting the process of trying to weed out the roos as I...
updating...ended up with three roos and one hen was sure I had 2 hens and then one morning yellowbeek crowed!! at that point I was odwn to a pair and couldn't break them apart so gave them to a local farmer that still sends me pics of them....now I am back to square one only this time I have 8...

I bought 4 silkie chicks I am not allowed to have roosters so am trying to find out the gender before they start crowing if possible. This guy looks very different from the others - is always the first to charge toward food when its given and seems to be the most dominate in the bunch. he...
