God help you if the bees forage in her yard.....wouldn't take much to poison them, or give her another litigious health claim(someone in her household will be allergic).
I can understand the hesitation to use poison when there are other animals around...and SCG has lots of them.
There are poisons coupled with baiting techniques that don't pose a risk to other animals...but if you don't know exactly what and how, it's scary.
Hopefully the exterminator can set...
You could fashion something...a round downspout maybe.....that lead to a small mesh wire cage, or tall garbage can..or something.
Get the spout and cage all set up ready to go.... then use a hole saw on the eave and shove the spout in.
Just a thought....no easy solution.

What is this 'rat repellent spray foam'...does it have poison in it or just a repellent?
Be careful, chooks love to peck and eat foam.
