I live in CO and have seen these ads for the past few months. Initially was excited someone local was selling so many neat breeds. But I think those are pics pulled from somewhere else, and the variety seems suspect. Let me know if you look into this further!
Thanks! I have had to really avoid TS because I know I would have the same response with chicks! I actually ordered feed and treats on Amazon just so that I wouldn't come home with any new chicks :) The warm weather is deceiving...
Agree! We bought a Hedgehog from a pet store for $100 and it only lived a few months. Apparently inbreeding is a big problem with hedgehogs. So I researched and found good breeders, but they cost three to five hundred dollars! We loved ours and he was a great pet, but no thanks.
They are home! Picked up our Coronation Sussex today and they are doing great so far. I am keeping them separate initially in their own run, but my other chickens free range so there has been a lot of checking each other out. They were both easy to handle and seem friendly, but I'm trying to...
I love my girls I got this Spring from My Pet Chicken. I wasn't wanting birds to show or breed, just cold hearty, pretty, good layers. I also wanted just girls, so I went with hatchery birds. They all arrived healthy, and have flourished. And I'm pretty sure they are all pullets!
Ohh no! I hope so too! A nasty rooster won't make it long around here. I have only read and heard wonderful things, so it's probably good to prepare myself for all possibilities. Thanks for your input.
A breeder in Northeast Colorado. They are breeding Coronation Sussex and Black and Blue Copper Marans. If all goes well I might need to ger some Marans from them in the Spring ;)
Just wanted to share my excitement, one more week until my pair of Coronation Sussex arrive! Spent the day preparing their seperate run and coop and everything looks comfy. I'll post pics soon :)
