    Enlarged liver with white nodules

Thanks @Eggcessive and @casportpony Those pics help a lot. Really this liver looks most like the leukosis one and the symptoms from wikipedia match very well. "Symptoms include enlargement of abdomen, bursa, weight loss, weakness and emaciation, and depression. The disease is more likely to...

Seemingly fine one day and dead the next. The body cut open you can see how enormous the liver is and...

The Natural Chicken Keeping thread - OTs welcome!

LoL; my cat were raised in the chicken house to keep them safe from coyotes and owls when they were small. They still go in and out and frequently nap in the nest boxes so my birds just ignore them. Unless the cats are trying to eat chicken feed, then they get pecked on the head

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Ah the joys of a long distance two language relationship Glad to know no one was bitten by the sneak and no one got fired over it and that your wife was on hand to translate Actually for as much as you have going on there, with you being in the states, you and your employees do really well.

    Arizona Chickens

Tractor Supply has leaflets near the electric fence supplies that should tell you how to set it up. You can also find a lot of info if you google it. Basically just remember that the hot wire has to make a complete circuit, i.e. can't just run out there and quit, the wire has to make a loop...

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Chickens can have both round and tape worms no matter what they are eating. Most of the time if my birds have feed left over it just dries out. I would think it would have to stay pretty wet to either continue fermenting or grow bacteria. Of course my relative humidity here is only about 10%

It sounds like things are really beginning to take off for you! I am almost done hatching for myself at the moment, will do a few more hatches to fill some standing orders then done until fall. Arizona Chickens

How funny my ducks gobble up the fermented feed the same as the chickens; in fact have two Welsh Harlequin girls in the layer house and they are first in the feed trough, but they were hatched and raised eating it....

Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

the picture that flashed in my head; a giant cabinet, long and narrow, push in a cart of eggs, tomorrow push in another cart, pushing the 1st cart farther along, continue, on day 21 on the other end of the cabinet, out comes a cart full of chicks ;-)

    Arizona Chickens

Could be any number of things, fatty liver disease will do just what you are describing. Also some birds become internal layers and if you open them up their abdomen is full of egg liquid along with odd lumps of shell and membranes. Just like not all women are fertile or have regular ovulation...
