If a hen has been broody for a while now will she every lay again? I've heard yes and no. I don't want to hatch any chicks so if she is not going to lay anymore I'm going to sell her.
At what age do you start weeding out the old chickens and adding new. I have some that we have had for 3 years and they were at least 1 when we got them. They have slowed laying big time. I'm getting only a few eggs a month from each.
I was just uncertain if I needed to clean it before I moved new chickens into it. I'll move it to a different location in the yard. Just needed to know if I needed to clean. Thanks
How would I go about cleaning my coop before I put new chicks in it. Would I just pressure wash it or do I need to spray of with something to clean it?
I had a hen start laying. She layed for a couple weeks then she went broody. Well she was broody for a couple week. Well two weeks later I've yet to get an egg from her again. Any help is appreciated.
I would recommend building you entire area for your chickens bigger than you think you would need. I have built two smaller coops. Now I'm building a coop into a barn stall. it's 11'x11'. the run area is 15'x20' with more that I can fence in if I desire. I'd saved a lot of money if I'd just went...
It's awesome. I love using the things I have around me. Other than the treated lumber and metal for room and nails, we cut ourselves. The lumber is out of our yard.
My chickens have been scratching the floor of their run a lot. and I'm starting to see openings around the sides. Could I put UN dyed mulch in the run. Its great to soak up extra water. I'm curious cause the mulch is cheaper than getting dirt and sand hauled in to fill it up with.
