Hello! I received my spring chicks last week and unfortunately 2 of my 3 Mille fleur D’uccles didn’t make it. So I have one lone bantam amongst Brahmas and Orpingtons. Right now there are 9 other chicks, but my kids are raising them for our 4H auction. In the end there will likely be one...
Hello! I am thinking of getting a Bantam splash Ameraucana from Meyer Hatchery in a few weeks. They are a new breed for them, and I’m curious if any of you have had experience with this specific type from Meyer? Would you recommend the breed? They don’t have any reviews on their site yet. Thank...
Hello!
We are considering getting started pullets from My Pet Chicken. Has anyone had experience with getting the older ones shipped? How did they do? And are they just as friendly as the chicks you raised from babies - or not? :) Thank you!
Hello! Can y'all help with this little one? This is a black ameraucana. The comb is still only has a single row, but it is on the pink side. Now the red leakage in its hackles are making me wonder. Can a pullet have red leakage like this? Wondering if there's still any hope for it to be a...
Hello,
My 15 month old golden sex link hen has had diarrhea for 3 weeks. She basically has runny poop coming out of her vent, however does seem to get some solid stuff out too. I've isolated her from the rest of the flock and have been putting Duramycin-10 (tetracycline hydrochloride powder)...

They are 25 weeks old, so I am feeding them layer pellets. If they are plucking out their own feathers, is there another way to stop that? Diet? They have a very large run/coop - 15 square feet per bird in the run and 5 sq ft per bird in the hen house. So I can't imagine they're doing it...
I have three golden sex link hens. I just noticed a bald spot on two of them right above their vent - about the size of a large lemon (pictured below). The spots are not red or inflamed in any way and no sores. The other hen looks to be just fine. I'd love to hear if any of you have thoughts...
Hello everyone!
First off - thanks to all of you for all the fantastic information. I've been learning so much.
I have three 4 1/2 week old golden sex links girls. They are going to live in a tractor while I build their more permanent all season home this summer. Space is a little limited...
