My husband and I are getting some broiler chicks but are also interested in some courntix quail. Could we house them together? Some sources say they need different food and some say they just grind up the chick feed. We only have one coop
I'd have to check the feed I dont remember right of hand. They have a 10x 20 foot run but the chicken house is small and we lock them up at night, we are currently building a larger one for them
A few of my chickens bottoms are raw and red and at first I chalked it up to them picking on each other because of too little space, we are working on building a bigger coop right now, is this something other than just pecking each other? Is there something I can do to help them heal?
They have not started laying yet, yes that's her in the front it's not the best picture. She like keeps her head in and tail down kind of like she's balled up.
My chicken has been very 'squatty' the last couple days. She stays by the water and food. She has runny poop and throws up water, other than that and looking 'squatty' she seems fine. I didnt know if theres something I should be worried about because all my other chickens seem fine and active...
One of our chickens started having trouble walking a couple days ago and now has her butt down like a duck and seems like she is bloated or full of water. Is there anything I can do for her? Should she be separated?
I found an egg that is at least two times larger than a store bought large egg and at least three times the size if the eggs we have been getting. The shell is very thin and it broken off on the top and I don't know if I can still eat it?
She's pretty much back to normal now, I think it was the egg, I was just worried because I read a bunch of stories of hens that were panting and died soon after
I have a hen who has been panting for a couple days. It's about 80 degrees outside but they have clean water. She is eating and drinking but it worries me because she isn't staying in the group when they are out like she usually does.
