Hi everyone, I'm south of Rochester. Looking for some Maran eggs preferably to hatch. Does anyone know of anyone in Rochester, Buffalo, or Finger Lakes area?
I had a dream that one of my chicken eggs hatched as a duck. And I've never kept ducks... I'm sure I'm not the only one who had very broken periods of sleep over the last few days!
Yay, all eggs that we expected to hatch (8) did. My daughters are especially excited about the eggs we hatched from our favorite hen, a bantam silkie/Cochin. They are super cute!
I found a home for two of the roos, so we're down to two now. There are 10 hens. I have an added-on run that I've considered closing off, but there isn't really a shelter in there. I'd love to have multiple coops someday. :-)
Hi everyone! My husband and I candled and were a bit disappointed in our number of infertile eggs, so we've gone down from 22 eggs to 8 alive plus two maybes. I'm hoping to candle again today or tomorrow. We have four roosters (down to two after today) but I think they're too busy competing to...
Thanks for sharing; I’ll keep a close eye on it. I have heard of other people needing to replace the turner. I have the bantam eggs in now and they do seem to be moving when the turner goes, perhaps just not as uniformly. Do you know how often the turner is supposed to come on?
Hi there, I also am planning a hatch in my new Nurture Right 360 and I'm wondering if the turner will work for my bantam eggs? It looks like you've hatched bantams in yours?
Hi everyone! I'm about to add eggs to this incubator tonight and I have some questions about the turner. First, is it supposed to continually run, or do we need to push the buttons to make it go a few times a day? (It doesn't say in the manual and mine is plugged in but not turning, test run...
I'm planning to join the hatchalong using my new Harris Farms nurture right incubator! I'll be hatching a mix, focusing on my bantam cochin, ameraucana and EE. This will be my third hatch using an incubator but I've never used an incubator with a clear view of the eggs which is exciting!
I am hoping you will still be offering these eggs in the late winter/spring! I just lost my sweet little cochin and I'm planning to hatch some eggs in February/March. I hate to have them shipped, but I will only be in your vicinity in December and then in July. ;-)
Most of these are Rhodebar x CCL. I wouldn't describe their coloring as black & white, maybe it's the lighting? Most of them have quite a bit of salmon/light red feathering, but there is one anomaly who doesn't. We also had a Rhodebar rooster that could have possibly snuck in some DNA, but that...
Hi everyone! I am sending one of my 12 week old pullets off to a friend and I need help deciding. I wish I knew if one of these came from our Welsummer hen (with Cream Legbar dad). To any of you who have hatched this mix, do any of these look similar?
Also, check out pictures 3&4 (it's the same...
Well there were only two out of 16 eggs that hatched which were the Welsummer's (and one may have been male and already culled). We do have a redder pullet though who was not in those pictures. Could this be a Welsummer/CL?
