My barred rock looked pretty similar when she molted. I think she actually looked worse. There were piles of feathers everywhere. I just kept a close eye on her and eventually noticed the new feathers coming in. She's beautiful again with all new soft, fluffy feathers.

Just wondering, what my chances are of getting eggs from my girls before the spring. I have 4 hens barred plymouth rock, easter egger, golden laced wyandotte and a red star, they are 12 weeks old. They will come of egg laying age in December/ January. Any thoughts? Thanks

Do you cap your feeders at night to keep critters and moisture out? I'm thinking of using a gravity style feeder like the ones shown here, but have concerns about night time. I've noticed that when I leave my current feeder in the run overnight all the feed left in it is clumpy from moisture...

Day two, nothing is getting done Lol

Golden Laced Wyandotte, Barred Plymouth Rock, Red Star and an Easter Egger. They are all so sweet, I seem to be losing hours of time just watching them.

First babies came in the mail today, Finally!! I think they're doing ok they seem to be eating, drinking, pooping and sleeping along with lots of chirping.
