    never did molt

    I have four hens that are now 2 years old. they have laid nicely for a 18 months. but they never molted last fall, still haven't, and are beginning to look a little frayed featherwise and eggshell wise too. I suspect they need a break from egg laying. anyone else's chickens skip molt?

    I have 4 hens that are a year and 7 months old that have not molted. I don't think I have ever had hens in their 2nd autumn not to molt. the older hens did sometime back, but the 4 younger ones have not. Is this common?
