    Is Iris here almost at point of lay? It's a little early at 14 weeks but she has really started to turn red in the face and today I caught her checking out the nesting box! What do you think? I am a first time chicken keeper..what do I know?

    Does anyone have an idea what breed this Rooster is? He was sold to me as a black sexlink, but he is not as he did not have the white spot on his head indicating cockerel.

    I have four Buff Orpingtons. I will try to post a picture of each one....Hen or Cockerel? They are almost 12 1/2 weeks old. I am having a hard time telling by their hackles or saddle feathers with the uniform color.

    Is the Brown Pullet actually a Cockerel? I know Isa Brown Pullets are sexlinked but I am wondering if maybe this is not an Isa Brown after all. After all, TSC gave me what they said were Black sexlink Pullets and all four were roosters so now I am very suspect. She is behaving very very Roosterish

    Did you ever discover what those "BSL" were? Mine look the same, black with green and a bit of a purple tinge...and three of four have FIVE toes!!!!

    How many toes do your BSL have? I bought what were sold as BSL from Tractor supply and they were all black at day old so I assumed they were pulleys....now I see three of four have five toes! They were also selling something called and Asian Chicken so I wonder if they got mixed up!
