Got my chicks from Mr Horstman last week........ I don’t know but it seams like RIR are becoming hard to get a hold off just like Barred Rocks, luckily after some long intensive search I was able to locate some breeding stock for both mention breeds in the fall

Room temperature plays a big factor on your incubator make sure it’s not under you AC vent

I would breed pure. For what I know both these breeds are great for laying and meat I don't think they need improvement but if you're just experimenting I would breed Australorp to Jersey hen and Jersey cock to Australorp hen
