Can one hen live alone (at least for a while)?

I do. That’s what I buy for them when we separating for breeding because they can’t go outside during that time. Things that are shiny they like the most.

Help, please! Gander won't let goose & new gosling off nest.

I would recommend separating them. He may not know that the gosling is his own, in this case he would be trying to kill it. Some ganders get jealous that the goose is paying attention to the gosling and not him. Have you went out at night to see what they are doing? If you peek in the window are...

Can one hen live alone (at least for a while)?

That is awful! Hopefully Olga is just hiding away somewhere. Masha should be okay alone for a little bit but you will definitely want to get another chicken for her. You can try putting some bird toys out there for here while you are trying to find her a friend. If you notice she is acting off...

    HELP- Emu deformities.

That is very good to hear about the one eye thing. We were quite worried. As for the beak we have been training it with tape. We did it full time for the first couple days when it still had its yolk sac and now it just gets done at night. It’s starting to straighten but we just aren’t sure about...

    Duckling Rescue

It might just be because he is weak from being sick. Keep an eye on it and see it it gets better as he gets stronger. I don’t think there is anything specific to ducks that you need to know. They are usually easier to keep than chicks in my opinion.

That’s so good to hear. Once he gets stronger you can try to fix his leg. Is it just splayed?

    Duckling Rescue

I wouldn’t worry about the leg for now. Take it out of the brooder and put it on a heating pad if you have one or a warm blanket. Hold it to make sure it doesn’t get too hot or cold. Take a syringe and give it some water. If it take the water you can try yogurt. I have always had good luck with...

I would say she is a partridge. If she is actually a girl she should look like the first picture. That has been my experience. If she turns out to be a boy she will look like the second picture.

If there aren’t any rings of death and the veins still appear healthy it is most likely okay. Sometimes they are just less active at times. Are you able to post a picture? It may help a little
