    If your neighbors are fine with it, just don't worry about the crowing. Otherwise I would try the collar before the surgery, because you can save the collar for your next rooster should this one turn out to be a hen.

    They may not be ready to eat anything until they are about a day old. Just keep the water and feed available to them. They are probably still resting from the long journey of hatching.

    First, I must say that Sandra is cute. Broiler chickens are bred to put on a lot of weight really fast, so they can be slaughtered without a lot of feed expense. If you are planning to keep him around, I think the vitamins are a good idea in any case, and don't over feed him. Meat birds...
