Hi Granolamom! I'm in Paulding County too and I am VERY new to this chicken thang. I have 11 Black Australorp hens and 1 rooster. 18 weeks old. One is acting ... not well. I'm worried about her, but also don't want her to spread anything to the others. Do you know of a vet who will treat chickens?

Always wondered about the efficacy of DE. Ants in garden don't like it, for sure, but it doesn't control them. Would the permethrin based product work as a preventative as well as a "killer?" I'm not 100% sure they have a problem at this point, but want to prevent one from occurring.

What do I do about it? I already have DE everywhere in hopes of preventing them! :-(

New to the chicken scene. What mask do you recommend? I just ordered "Gateway Safety 80502V TruAir Vented N100 Particulate Respirator." But it comes in a pack of 5, so I assume they are disposable. I think I'd prefer reusable. What do you use/prefer?
