I saw one of mine in a nesting box and thought there was a new colored egg there the other day, but I though it couldn't be... I'm glad someone else is experiencing the same thing! I'm curious too- is it possible???
Little Dan- They are so cute! Congratulations!!
I had one pip last night and hatch this morning and 3 more have pipped since then, but nothing yet... I'm getting quite a workout up and down the basement stairs this morning, lol!
Saskfarmgirl- they are adorable! Congratulations!!
Happy Camper- OMG, so exciting!! ...and I'm jealous about your duck, hubby won't let me get any!
How do you stand the suspense?? I heard peeping this morning but now nothing. I have them in the basement and have probably gone down there 20...
Hi! I was so glad to see this post! I just put my first eggs on lockdown and am so nervous! Hatch date should be Thursday, but I'm checking on them all the time. I also have mostly dark eggs (Frizzle Ameraucana x ??) and it was hard to candle them, so I have all of my original 10 still in...
Hmmm... I ordered from Meyer, and 2 of my 4 chicks didn't hatch out as of Monday afternoon, so they called, substituted, and shipped Tuesday afternoon. It looks like they shipped express and were guaranteed by today at noon, but they haven't arrived yet. The PO said they have been having...
LOL... yes I do! It was a thin piece of wood, I think a piece of mulch. They are in the flower beds scratching around a lot, and she must have mistakenly eaten it in there. Poor girl! She should be feeling better soon, though. Thanks again!!
Well, so far so good I got the piece of whatever it was is out, and she's back in the backyard with the rest of the girls. Hooray!!! Thanks again for your help!
Thanks so much for your help! She's hiding under the deck and I can't get her out, but as soon as I see her in the yard, I'll try again with oil and post an update. I really appreciate the quick replies
Hi! I am at a loss for what to do and I'm hoping someone here has had some experience with this and can help... I have a one year old female Mille Fleur d'Uccle whose wings have been a little droopy for a day or two. This morning I decided to take a look at her to see what's going on and I...
I'm in CT and just had a broody hatch out a chick last night! If there was another one I might bring them both inside, but for now there's only one and the hen seems to be doing a good job keeping the baby warm (I tried to look under mama hen this morning and heard the chick peeping). I have a...
Hi everyone! This is my first time with a broody and I'm confused what would be the best thing to do... I had a single chick hatch yesterday and am unsure whether to bring her inside by herself under a heat lamp or just leave her with the hen separated in the coop. It's pretty cold outside at...
I have an 8 month old black silkie rooster for sale. He is a sweet guy and is easily picked up and handled, but he is just too loud for our neighborhood. He is NOT hatchery stock (purchased from a great, reputable local breeder) and would make a great addition to any flock. If you are able to...
I have an 8 month old black silkie rooster for sale. He is a sweet guy and is easily picked up and handled, but he is just too loud for our neighborhood. He has been fed organic feed and is wormed monthly with verm-x. He is NOT hatchery stock and would make a great addition to any flock. If you...
I just read your post... I'm soooo sorry. I lost one of my girls to a hawk about 2 months ago. It was devastating I only let them out in the afternoon now and our dogs are almost always with them to keep the hawks away. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss
