Oh sorry, yes she is enclosed and they are not able to reach her. It is actually the pen that we use for our baby goats at night but I was able to throw in dividing panels quickly this morning.
She was in the nursery pen with the six others from her clutch. No division between them and it would be hard to segregate her within the nursery. I could probably move one or two other pullets to be with her right now.
I kept her in to keep her in better spirits but a few of the others started pecking her and created a sore :(
I will try this in the morning, thank you!
That source is so helpful, thank you. This was the first thing I’ve read about curly toe paralysis that mentioned the late stages mimic Marek’s symptoms. Do you crush the 1/2 tablet and dissolve in water and syringe feed? She is not mobile at this time and I don’t see how I could get her to eat it.
I was referred to rooster booster poultry cell but I don’t think it’s enough. I’ve been giving her the max 3mls daily and no improvement, but she has been getting worse. I honestly will be surprised if she makes it through the night… I’m supporting her the best I can with 40 other chickens and 3...
She just looks depressed. 😞 Still laying on her side/front with her head turned. I syringe feed her electrolytes every so often and offer some egg yolk. She flaps her wings when I pick her up and squawks a bit, but she’s just not her normal self.
I have been giving her the rooster booster...
Looking for some insight on Marek’s disease so I can be prepared... google searches have conflicting info so I’d like to hear your experience.
I have a pullet who was hatched Nov 14th, so she’s about 15 weeks old. Four days ago she started hobbling, two days ago the toes of one foot curled in...
Not that I can tell. I definitely don’t see a crack, and the wetness of the honey colored liquid was on the underside of the egg, which I didn’t see until one of the hatched chicks rolled it over.
I candled on day 18 when I took the auto turner out. It was pretty quick because I only had six eggs. Three I was sure were great, two that I couldn’t really see any veining but the chick was the right size. One that was much smaller and I couldn’t see veining but maybe saw movement- I marked...
Please help!
Is this an oozing rotten egg? Today is day 21 and I have three chicks that have hatched, waiting on three more. None have pipped from what I can tell. Got home from a morning out and noticed this color in the incubator tray, thought maybe the chicks had started pooping.
Chick...
Chick is doing great! Whatever the string/cord was fell off fairly quickly and the red bulge has dried and gone down significantly. It’s much darker now!
Today is Day 20 of my incubation and I woke up this morning to a perky chick staring at me as I was refilling the incubator with water- it scared me because I was obviously not expecting that at 4 AM!
That chick is doing well and I noticed at the same time that another egg had pipped! When I...
Like others have said, it depends on your location. It also depends on how your birds are kept and what you feed them. People will pay way more for eggs that come from birds that fed whole grains, meat/bugs/worms, and non GMO feed. All that said, you can charge whatever you want. I live just...
Right, I’m just wanting some possible ideas at this point. The ones without head spots are clearly not pure BR so I’m a little nervous that there may be several sex linked roos that I might have tagged as female 🥲
I did my best! Same bird.
I’m sure there are several that are crosses. I’m just wanting some possible ideas at this point. The ones without head spots are clearly not pure BR so I’m a little nervous that there may be several sex linked roos that I might have tagged as female. Just wanting a place to start so I can look...
