Hatching Time basket modification for goose eggs?

Maybe my hands are just shaky, but my eggs always roll when I put the basket in and out and the basket is a little too narrow to easily slide onto both rails. Does anyone have any modifications they use?

Looking for Oregon mini geese in NC

Thank you! I found someone last year selling mini pilgrim eggs on eBay but my incubator wasn’t great and they failed to hatch. I’ve messaged them to see if they will be offering them again in 2024 because my research leads me to believe they may be Oregon mini geese since mini pilgrim geese...

Looking for Oregon mini geese in NC

Thanks. It looks like everyone I find no longer raises them. Hollerreads only ships adults and it is a long way to NC from Oregon. I’m afraid they won’t make it.

    Lakenvelders

10 weeks. I hope so. I have sooo many extra roosters this year. Even when I buy pullets to try to even numbers I get more cockerels. 😆

    Lakenvelders

So a few weeks ago, I posted these two thinking definitely cockerels. They’re about ten weeks now and the one has such a different comb. Still two boys?

    Liege fighter chick - cockerel?😭

I will definitely hold off then. I can always tuck another pullet in with one of my “party” flocks😆 Why are there so many breeds that are so pretty and fun? We don’t even actually like eggs that much around here. We just like our birds. My mom has 3 new silkies she thinks are roosters and wants...

    Liege fighter chick - cockerel?😭

I sure hope so! I want to keep it but no more room for single roosters at this point!

    Liege fighter chick - cockerel?😭

Nooo! 😆 I went back and looked and there’s four of them. Well, guess I’ll add him to the list of extra bouncing baby boys I have up for discussion. No one wants a hen right now, let alone a cockerel.

    Liege fighter chick - cockerel?😭

Everything I hatch or buy it’s like 2/3 to 3/4 roosters this year. 😭😭😭😭 I don’t mind keeping this Leige fighter if it’s a pullet, but I definitely don’t want a cockerel. It was part of a fun egg assortment I bought. I know it’s a cockerel. I think I’m just whining at this point. Tell me anyway 😆

    Silver lakenvelders

Thank you! Boy, I am roostered out. I got 11 out of 18 from my hatchery straight run adopt me assortment. Then, if these are both roosters, I will have five out of seven from these eggs I hatched. 😭 at least I am pretty sure I have a pair of Ayem cemani and they are gorgeous.

    Silver lakenvelders

They hatched May 20th. About 6 weeks?

    Silver lakenvelders

I only hatched out two and was hoping for a pair. I know sexing is supposed to be tricky with this breed but pretty sure I have two cockerels?

What did I buy because they sure aren’t legbar pullets. (Tractor supply)

I got them from Tractor Supply because I already had two from a straight run group of fancy chicks and needed a few more pullets. (I like to try a bunch of new breeds that way before get the better stock.) I don’t think the hatchery will honor the Tractor Supply sign because TS could have...

Oh yay. Another legbar cockerel. That’s so super since I bought the pullets for my current cockerel. I am having ghastly luck with sexed pullets this year😆
