how do i get rid of a skunk

Shooting them in the head usually results in the stink being released. An old trapper friend of mine said to shoot them through both lungs and they are more likely to not spray. All the ones I shot in the head sprayed. A few that I have hit in the lungs didn't spray.

    Skunks

Found another skunk chasing my chickens in the run yesterday. That makes 5 I've killed in the run this year! I don't remember them being as bad in the past. Someone said its their breeding season and they are more active now?

    Brooder Finished (pics)

Quote: No, its just a wood bottom covered with vinyl. I think the vinyl pattern threw you off. No poop boards, I'll save that option for the main coop. I'll try the temp testing though.

    Brooder Finished (pics)

Thanks, I havent even turned on the lamp yet. I just set it there for the pic, but I'll try the placing it on one end idea. I dont know how the meat and egg birds will mix, but hopefully they can get along for a few weeks before I can seperate them into coops.

    What is a good poison?

From what I've heard: Furadan will kill everything. If another animal takes a bite of an animal that died from the Furadan, it too will die in a matter of seconds (domino effect). So dead animals have to be buried/burned to keep other non target animals from eating it and dying. This stuff...

    groundhog, threat or not?

I have a ground hog living under a shed in the yard that I'm about to turn into one of those maggot feeders in a bucket for the chickens. Wife has given it the ok as long as the smell doesn't become too much of a problem.

    Electric fence pulse bother chickens?

I mounted my electric fence controler (for garden) on the back of my chicken coop (plywood), every second it makes an audible clicking noise that can be heard pretty good in the coop. Can you tell what kind these are???

Thanks for the good info! The banty #3 was supposed to be a female. Will it be ok to keep him with the pullets, or should I keep them from breeding? Heres more pics, thanks again. #5 #6 I was guessing maybe the tanish ones (in #5) were Buff Orpington???
